Kindergarten Field Trip

Yesterday was a small taste of the summer for me. It was the first day this season that was 90 degrees with nothing but sunshine. It was on this day that I volunteered to help chaperon the Kindergarten Field Trip to the Arboretum. An experience that I will not forget nor probably do again! Although, the experience did help me to appreciate my own child even more. ;o)

It was a fun time going on a hunt for all of the statues in the arboretum and learning about their habitats, how they survive, what kind of eater are they ---herbivore, carnivore, omnivore......

We also looked for things that were living and non-living. As you can guess, they had very little interest in the educational value of the trip, but more for chasing each other, rolling down hills, picking flowers (BIG no-no!), going potty and whining about how hot or hungry they were at any given moment. FUN! ;o) It didn't help that it was a hot day either....or the birds attacking our sack lunches on the picnic tables!!!

Aahhhh....the experience. The memories.......the ride to and from on the big yellow school bus! Glad to help out, but so glad it is over. Note to self: Pick and choose your volunteering very carefully!
