Who's the luckiest boy on the planet?

Well, besides his cousin Matthew in England, it is William! Matthew was lucky enough to meet a famous Aston Villa player and tour the stadium. William has ridden on the Zamboni at a Dallas Stars hockey game and now he has been the Dr. Pepper Stick Kid for a game! That means that our lucky little lad got to come down to the ice and watch the players practice before the game this past Saturday night. He also got to sit on the players bench. Chris and I were lead up to a small set of stairs that we were to stand on until after the practice was over while William stood at the glass and watched. A couple of times, just for fun, the players would hit the hockey puck on the glass right in front of William and the Junior Starter to startle them. Oh how William loved that! Before the players got on the ice, William stood outside their locker room and gave them all "knocks" for good luck as they went out onto the ice to practice. After the practice was over, Steve Ott(#29) came over and chatted with William. He signed a player's stick and handed it to him. Unbelievable!!

After all of the fun there, we were lead up to the guest relations where we gave the security guards our stick and they handed us the "golden" ticket. It really was gold! The stick was kept there during the game for safe keeping. We then went to our seats in the Platinum level (really good seats!) and enjoyed all the treats they had to offer Dallas Stars fans big and small! It was a great game that went into overtime ending with the Stars winning. I think it was a magical night for William.......he is still beaming about it!

The only thing we missed was William on the Jumbotron introduced as that night's Stick Kid because we were eating our dinner. Bummer! Oh well, the memories of that experience will far surpass a face on the Jumbotron! My turn for dreams come true will be in August when we go to France ;)
